The newly appointed Vice Chairman of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Engr. Sanusi Garba has called on well-wishers to pray for the Nigerian power sector, which he described as being in a bad shape.

“We are coming at a time the sector is in a bad shape. We realize the challenges ahead”. When people called to congratulate, sometimes we rather requested for their prayers so that we can do the right things in the interest of the sector,” Sanusi said.

The Vice Chair spoke to the media at his Abuja office where he urged the inaugurated Commissioners not to promote any other interest other than that of the power sector.  “We will try to the best of our knowledge to balance interests of the electricity customers with that of the industry operators,” he said.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola inaugurated Sanusi and five other commissioners to steer the affairs of NERC.
