The Chairman of Ibom Power Board of Directors, Engr. Etido Inyang has said implementation of Ibom Power Phase 2 will be the yardstick to measure the success of the newly appointed Board of Directors at Ibom Power Company Limited.

He spoke at the inaugural Board meeting held at Ibom Power Corporate office in Uyo, where he stated that the responsibility of the Board is to actualize the vision of Governor Udom Emmanuel for the success and perpetuity of Ibom Power Company Limited.

Calling on the newly appointed Board members and the Management to work as one, the Chairman said “The vision should be one and not about individual interests. We will not succeed until we get to the second Phase of Ibom power”.

He therefore urged the Board members and the Management to use their connections across sectors to ensure the implementation of Ibom power phase 2.

Engr. Inyang appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel for the confidence bestowed on him by appointing him Ibom Power Board Chairman and extolled the Governor for effective management of Akwa Ibom State economy amidst the recession.

The former commissioner also appreciated the Managing Director of Ibom Power, Engr. Meyen Etukudo for holding-the-fort in the absence of the Board.

In a Press Release dated 23rd March 2017 and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Sir Etekamba Umoren, Governor Udom Emmanuel had appointed the former Commissioner, Engr. Etido Inyang as the Chairman of Ibom Power Board of Directors while Barr. Uwem Ekanem, Hon. Ayang Ayang, Elder Ntieyong Inyangmme and Hon. Emmanuel Ebe were appointed as Directors.
