Ibom Power Company Limited, operators of the 191megawatts Ibom power plant at Ikot Abasi, has given financial support to the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) on the occasion of the Akwa Ibom State, Nigerian Union of Journalists/SWAN games 2021.

SWAN, an association of professional Sports Journalists in Nigeria organized the 2021 AK NUJ/SWAN games for all journalists practicing in Akwa Ibom State to bond and unwind.

The Managing Director of Ibom Power, Engr. Meyen Etukudo was represented by the Manager of Administration, Ms. Imaobong Akpabio at the grand finale of the week-long event which held yesterday at the NUJ Press Centre in Uyo the state capital.

Ibom power supported winners, runners up and second runners up in the indoor games of Table Tennis, Scrabble, Chess, Draught and Ludo with medals and prize money as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The NUJ/SWAN games 2021 also featured football competition between the several chapels of NUJ in Akwa Ibom State. The Local Government Information Chapel (LOGIC) and the Federated Chapel slugged it out in the final match, which ended with an emphatic 4 goals to nil in favour of the Federated Chapel.
