CIA HONOURS IBOM POWER MD

The Chartered Institute of Administration, CIA, Akwa Ibom State District Society has conferred its “Administrators’ Award” on the Managing Director of Ibom Power Company Limited and Senior Special Assistant on Power to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Engr. Meyen Etukudo.
At the award ceremony which was held yesterday in Uyo, the CIA said the award is in recognition of Engr. Etukudo’s ‘distinguished leadership as an administrator in the power sector, commitment to the quality of service delivery and administrative proficiency’.
The Chairman, Association of Professional Bodies in Nigeria, APBN, Akwa Ibom State chapter, Hon. Joshua Eyo presented the award to Engr. Etukudo, represented by a staff of Ibom Power, Blessing Otu.
Engr. Etukudo had worked in the power sector for more than 30 years before joining the Akwa Ibom State Government about seven years ago and has gained recognition for several power sector intervention projects across the state.
Under his leadership, the state government has installed over 450 transformers in villages and communities across the state while more than 95% of communities have been connected to the national grid under the ‘Power For All’ initiative.
Engr. Etukudo also spearheaded landmark power projects of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration such as the 33/11KV, 2 X 15MVA injection substation at Edet Akpan Avenue in Uyo, the upgrade of the Transmission substation at Uyo from 2 x 60MVA to 3 x 60MVA, construction of a brand new 2 x 60MVA transmission substation at Ekim in Mkpat Enin, and the donation of a 30MVA transformer for the construction of the proposed Ikot Abasi transmission substation.
The CIA conference tagged ‘Treat 2022’ focused on “Administration skills and strategies as tools for achieving organizational goals” and “Exploring the roles of professional administrators in Public service.” The facilitators were Dr. Emmanuel Afahanam from the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission and Mr. Effi-Ita Ephraim from the Centre for Management Development.
